Changing Textures[edit | edit source]

Requirements[edit | edit source]

  • Switch Toolbox
  • Image editing of your choice (Photoshop, paint.net, etc.)

First, we need to open a background file. These are found at ./content/Common/distant_view. You can, with Switch Toolbox, open whatever .szs file you want to change the textures of.

After opening the file, locate the .bfres file. (Find out more about .bfres files here)

Open it by double-clicking and locate the folder "Textures" and open it, some image files should appear. Those are all the textures that the models uses. If you want to change a texture, right-click the image file, and click "Replace". You can then select the PNG file of your texture and press Open. This window should appear with your texture:

If you want to keep your texture as is, you don't have to worry about anything, so just click OK. Your texture is now applied. If you want to see it in-game, save the archive using the save button on the top left corner.
